Creative Writing Lessons

The creative writing lessons conducted aiming to develop students’ written communication skills through methods of persuasion and/or creativity. Presenting arguments through writing depends on the structure and methodology of writing to effectively communicate the author’s ideas. For HSC, students are expected to be able to critically examine texts and consequently communicate relevant ideas through essay writing. Also, students are expected to be able to write imaginatively to further develop their personal voice in writing.

Lesson Structure

Classes are one-on-one to fully focus on the student’s strengths and weaknesses in writing in order to personalize the lessons. Writing will be built from the ground-up, first by discussing the topics and themes of texts and then students will plan the structure of the composition according to the task. Students are then guided to write the composition and teachers will assist with developing good writing structure, critical thinking, grammar and punctuation.
