Music for Toddlers (Kindermusik) – 18months to 3.5yrs
by Meena Ahn
Preparing the materials for my precious toddler music class is fun but time consuming!
My 2 and 3 year old students are learning their phonics! I’m so excited! They’re going to read soon. Read books and read music! It’s at times like this that I’m grateful for my exposure and experience at a Montessori pre-school as well as my music training.
I wanted lots of tactile learning, so using textured paper and cardboard, I made my phonics cards. I only had uppercase sandpaper letters (Montessori). I needed lowercase ones. So I decided to make my own.
Over the next 4 weeks, we’ll be learning about family and friends, high sounds, low sounds, as well as building on their knowledge of their crotchets and rests. My students will play on real drums and I will be introducing the keyboard in 2 weeks.
I can’t wait to give out the new home materials: the songs are so catchy!
Join us for an exciting remainder of term – we calculate the weeks pro-rata so you won’t be missing out!
