About:
Aaron took up the piano for a number of years reaching Grade 8, encountering many styles of music including Classical, Pop, Latin, Jazz, Australian contemporary and Rock. At AMPA, he was under the brief tutelage of session drummer Jamie Casistros. During both degrees, Aaron gained a huge amount of collaborative experience with musicians from all backgrounds. His philosophy? Music communicates. He believes that studying and practising music can establish extra-curricular behaviours and form a positive sense of well-being and happiness with all students: Music is shared! As a teacher, Aaron is devoted to his students. As a tutor for 7 or more years, he has a wealth of experience to utilise. No matter what age, he will strive to work with students in developing musical outcomes and experiences regardless of mood or skill. Communication finds its place within Aaron’s light-hearted and flexible lessons. As a collaborator, Aaron loves to work with like-minded musicians who strive for creativity and quality workmanship.
Anecdotes:
If you could have written one song that someone else wrote, what song would it be? Tell us why…
“Achilles Last Stand by Led Zeppelin: besides the duration of the song, it retains many heavy elements of rock n roll that are uniquely combined amongst, arguably, the most contemporary insturments: drums, guitar, bass and vocals. It is an epic based off an epic that is both higly emotional and supremely technical to play on any layering of the song. It is fast, dramatic and exciting but within its simplicity, it is masterly crafted by Jimmy Pages orchestration. It’s almost like a story within a story and is based off the story of Achilles, the greek hero of the trojan war. It is a fantastic epic and combines both traditional lore with the modernised sounds of the future.”
