About:
Showing an interest in music at a young age, Sofie began her studies on Violin at 3 and half years old. She found her passion for the Viola when playing the instrument in a string children the same joy that she gained from playing music at a young age through the Suzuki Method, however her personal teaching style incorporates a mixture of Suzuki and traditional approaches including the use of the AMEB syllabus and focuses on the formation of strong character and encouraging students to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and independent learners.
She currently learns at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under former associate concertmaster of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Marina Robinson and in the studio of Roger Benedict, principal violist of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

“If I could play with any musician past or present, it would be virtuoso violinist Niccolo Paganini.”
What are your earliest memories of music?
“My earliest memories of music are first hearing Mozart’s opera “The Magic Flute” on the radio, and being obsessed with it from then on. I insisted on listening to it every night before I went to bed.”
What inspires you to sit down and make music?
” I am inspired to make music so much because music is what reminds me of everything that is great about life, but it also lets you forget about your worries when you are sit down.”
